The Ministry of External Affairs today highlighted the key outcomes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to France. Briefing the media in Paris, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said the visit focused on three major pillars – trade, technology and regional and international security.
He said India and France jointly launched the Bharat Innovates initiative in Nice, providing a global platform for Indian deep-tech startups. More than 120 Indian startups participated in the programme. At VivaTech 2026 in Paris, where India was the AI Country of Focus, the Prime Minister emphasised a human-centric approach to artificial intelligence and the use of technology for inclusive development.
Foreign Secretary Misri also noted progress in trade negotiations with the United Kingdom, Canada, the European Union and the United States. He said discussions at the G7 Outreach Summit focused on maritime security, the safety of seafarers, developments in West Asia and enhanced international cooperation on health and economic challenges.
