Manipur: Two UKNA cadres killed, Two injured in Joint Indian Army, Assam Rifles Operation

In Manipur, two cadres of outlaw armed group United Kuki National Army (UKNA) were killed and two others injured in an operation jointly conducted by Indian Army and Assam Rifles team in the jungle area of Churachandpur district. 
 
A joint team of Indian Army and Assam Rifles team launched a counter insurgency operation in the jungle area near Phaibong Village of Henglep Sub-Division in Churachandpur district,  IG Assam Rifles (South) said in a statement. 
 
The operation was based on specific intelligence regarding the presence of a United Kuki National Army (UKNA) camp where cadres were equipped with automatic weapons. It further said that on September 2, security forces came under fire and engaged the cadres who fled into dense vegetation. 
 
The operation reportedly neutralized two UKNA cadres and injured two others. Security forces recovered two MA rifles, on AK-56, one 40 mm Lathode gun, ammunition, magazines and other military stores and further search operations are continuing in the surrounding jungle to apprehend the fleeing cadres, it added.
