Manipur : Ten accused arrested in multiple high-profile cases

In Manipur, ten persons wanted in multiple high-profile cases have been arrested by a combined team of the National Investigation Agency, Manipur Police and the CRPF. The arrests were made during coordinated raids carried out across several districts, including Imphal, Churachandpur and Ukhrul.
 
Police said the accused are linked to several serious cases, including the 18 crore 85 lakh rupees Punjab National Bank robbery in Ukhrul, looting of arms from the 5th India Reserve Battalion headquarters, an attack on CRPF personnel at Naransena, and an ambush on the advance security convoy of the then Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. They are also accused in cases involving the abduction and killing of four Kukis and the murder of a Hmar woman in Jiribam district.
 
The National Investigation Agency said the arrests were made based on evidence connecting the accused to incidents of ethnic violence in the State. Investigations in all six cases are currently underway.
