Manipur has 19.34 lakh voters in the draft electoral roll published today after the completion of the enumeration phase of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Speaking at a press conference in Imphal, Chief Electoral Officer Arun Kumar Sinha said the draft roll includes 9,40,466 male voters, 9,93,660 female voters and 294 third-gender voters. He said, prior to the exercise, Manipur had 20,93,076 voters, and enumeration forms were distributed accordingly. A total of 19,34,399 forms were received, accounting for 92.42 per cent completion of the exercise.
Mr Sinha added that claims and objections on the draft roll will be accepted till the 4th of next month and disposed of by the 2nd of September. The final electoral roll will be published on 6th September.
