Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today said that the ideas and vision of freedom fighter Lamyanba Hijam Irabot, who worked tirelessly to unite the people of different communities residing in different parts of Manipur and bring them together as one, should continue to guide the people of the State today.
In Manipur, the 75th Death Anniversary of Lamyanba Irabot was observed today across the State, remembering the pioneering visionary leader, communist politician and social activist of Manipur.
Chief Minister Singh, while attending the main event at the Lamyanba Irabot Statue Complex in Imphal called upon the people to remember and honour the ideals and vision cherished by Lamyanba Irabot and ensure that these continue to inspire future generations.
Shri Khemchand said that Lamyanba Irabot had raised his voice against the oppressive British rule and the prevailing social and political conditions from the 1930s onwards. He said that the valuable legacy left behind by the great leader should be carried forward by the present generation.
During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated several newly developed facilities at the complex and dedicated them to the people. He also led others in paying floral tribute to the statue of the great leader
