In Manipur, a joint team of Assam Rifles along with the civil administration, police and medical department conducted a biometric registration drive for displaced Myanmar nationals in Phaikoh, Shangkhalok and Aloyo villages of Kamjong district today. Around forty officials and security personnel participated in the exercise and approximately five hundred displaced persons were identified, verified and biometrically registered. The drive carried out under Phase II of Operation Anchor aims to strengthen border management while ensuring regulated humanitarian assistance.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles personnel distributed two 500 litre water storage tanks to T Bollon Village in Khengjoi Sub Division of Chandel district Manipur today to address water shortage in the village. The initiative will benefit over one hundred thirty residents by improving access to clean water.
