In Maharashtra, two elderly women were killed and 31 passengers injured when a State Transport bus collided with a truck near Bodhe Phata on the Malegaon-Chalisgaon road in Nashik district this morning.
The accident occurred around 9:45 AM when the Pimpalgaon depot bus, travelling from Malegaon towards Pachora, reportedly tried to overtake and collided with the oncoming truck.
The two women died on the spot. The injured, including several women and children, are undergoing treatment at the general hospital and a private hospital in Malegaon. Some of the injured are reported to be in serious condition. The deceased women were from Jalgaon district.
