Maharashtra receives 92% of its average rainfall between June 1 and August 20

Maharashtra has received 92 percent of its average rainfall between June 1st and August 20th this year. Against the normal rainfall of 723 millimetres during this period, the state has recorded 665.1 millimetres. While July witnessed 131.5 percent of the average rainfall, rainfall intensity has declined in August.
 
Since June 1st, Konkan division has received the highest rainfall at 103.5 percent of normal. Pune division has recorded 561.4 millimetres against the normal 685.5 millimetres, which is 81.9 percent of the average. Despite the decline in rainfall during August, the overall seasonal rainfall situation in the state remains satisfactory due to good rainfall received in July.
