The Maharashtra government today announced a comprehensive Whole-of-Government Approach to eradicate drugs from the state by 2029 under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The policy has been approved by the Cabinet to strengthen coordinated action against drug abuse.
The Cabinet today also approved a policy to ensure healthy food options at government and semi-government meetings, programmes and canteens. Accordingly, a balanced menu will be mandatory at such venues.
In another decision, the elevated road project from Old Pune Naka to Boramani Naka in Solapur city has been declared an urgent public project. This will facilitate the transfer of required government land to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for completing the project on National Highway 65.
The Cabinet has approved a revised cost of 5,704.50 crore rupees for the Kukadi Irrigation Project in Pune district. The project is expected to create an irrigation potential of 1,44,912 hectares in the region.
