Maharashtra government plans charging stations for electric vehicles across state

The Maharashtra government is planning to set up electric vehicle charging stations at MSRTC depots and Regional Transport Offices across the state.

While flagging off Tata Motors’ electric trucks at the Tardeo RTO in Mumbai, Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced that the government is also considering setting up charging stations at flyovers under a public-private partnership model. Mr Sarnaik added that a proposal has already been sent to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for approval. The Minister appealed to people to switch to electric vehicles to help reduce pollution. He also said that MSRTC aims to convert its entire bus fleet to electric buses by 2036.
