In Maharashtra, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri districts have been experiencing a flood-like situation due to heavy rainfall since yesterday. Vaibhavwadi, Kankavali, Kudal, and other talukas of Sindhudurg have been witnessing incessant heavy rains since this morning, resulting in a rise in the water levels of major rivers in the region. The heavy rains have severely affected vehicular traffic in the district. In Ratnagiri district, major rivers have crossed the danger mark, disrupting normal life. Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a red alert warning for heavy rainfall in both districts.
