Maharashtra CM launches ‘Participate Mumbai’ initiative for city development

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today launched the ‘Participate Mumbai’ initiative, describing it as a platform to bring the government, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), corporates, NGOs, experts and citizens together for the city’s development.

The Chief Minister said the initiative was not limited to mobilising CSR funds, but would enable organisations and citizens to support projects in areas including education, healthcare, water, employment, environment and poverty alleviation. He said the BMC’s agreement with Samagra would help simplify administrative processes, improve service delivery and enhance efficiency. He also called for greater use of artificial intelligence to reduce human intervention in building plan approvals. Mr Fadnavis stressed the need for CSR partnerships to address malnutrition among children, particularly in slums and economically weaker areas.
