Maharashtra: CM Fadnavis urges US companies to view the state as platform for global growth

The India-US partnership must now move beyond conventional trade and investment towards co-investment, co-innovation, co-development and co-creation. Addressing the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce National Convention in Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis invited American companies to view Maharashtra as a platform for both their Indian and global growth, highlighting the state’s talent, infrastructure, markets, technology ecosystem and global connectivity.

Speaking on the occasion, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said the target of taking India-US bilateral trade to 500 billion dollars by 2030 reflects the “unmatched potential” of the partnership between the two countries. Addressing the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce National Convention in Mumbai, he said bilateral trade in goods and services has risen from around 20 billion dollars to over 240 billion dollars in just over two decades, reflecting the deepening economic relationship.

Mr Gor said cooperation between India and the United States is expanding across major strategic sectors, including artificial intelligence, technology, aerospace, defence and energy. He said the next phase of the partnership would be shaped by strategic technologies and resilient supply chains, with cooperation in areas such as AI, quantum computing, semiconductors, defence and critical minerals.
