Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured farmers of comprehensive assistance as the state faces a severe drought-like situation caused by deficient rainfall, particularly across Marathwada.
Fadnavis began his field visits from Latur district to assess the crop situation. He visited Jau and Kharosa villages, inspected damage to Kharif crops and interacted with farmers. He later visited Karajkheda and Malkapur areas in Dharashiv district, where he inspected damaged crops and the Karajkheda storage reservoir.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister found crops withered and the storage reservoir completely dry, highlighting the severity of the situation. He said deficient rainfall in Dharashiv had resulted in extensive damage to Kharif crops and required immediate government intervention.
