Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis directs officials to ensure smooth diesel supply for farmers

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said that directives have been issued to District Collectors and Divisional Commissioners in the state to ensure an adequate and smooth supply of diesel for farmers. Speaking to the media in Shirdi, he said the instructions were issued following reports of fuel shortages in rural areas.

Mr. Fadnavis also pointed to a sudden 20 to 30 per cent rise in fuel sales in certain places and warned of strict action against those involved in black marketing of fuel under the pretext of supplying farmers. Amid concerns arising from the Gulf War, petrol and diesel sales across the state recorded a nearly 20 per cent increase during the first fortnight of May as people began stockpiling fuel. The Chief Minister travelled to Shirdi aboard the Vande Bharat Express.
