Maharashtra celebrates 353rd coronation anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

The 353rd coronation ceremony of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Maharashtra on Saturday.


The main event was held at Raigad Fort in Mahad taluka of Raigad district, marking the historic coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj that took place on June 6, 1674. The ceremonial rituals included the traditional ritual anointment of the idol of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with gold coins.


The ceremony was held in the presence of Yuvraj Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati and Shahaji Raje. Representatives from various organisations across Maharashtra, historians, and lakhs of devotees participated in the celebrations, paying tribute to the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.


The coronation ceremony was also celebrated at Sindhudurg Zilla Parishad, where Shiv Shaka Rajdanda and Swarajya Gudi were ceremonially worshipped.
