Maharashtra: 8 Devotees Die After their vehicle Falls Into Well in Solapur District

In Maharashta, eight devotees, including children died after a pickup vehicle carrying them fell into a roadside well in Solapur district this afternoon. The mishap occurred near Tandulwadi on the Mhaswad-Pandharpur road in Malshiras taluka. The devotees were from Ranjani village in Pandharpur taluka and were returning after offering prayers at Siddhanath temple.

Five injured were shifted to Pandharpur for treatment. According to preliminary information, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge into the well. Police, revenue officials and local residents carried out rescue operations. An investigation has been launched into the incident.

President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President C P Radhakrishnan have expressed grief over the loss of lives in an accident in Solapur Rural, Maharashtra.  In a social media post, both President Murmu and the Vice President expressed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also expressed grief at the tragic accident. He announced an ex-gratia of 5 lakh rupees to the families of those who died in the accident.
