Three people were killed and over 100 injured in separate incidents related to Dahi Handi celebrations in Maharashtra. In Mumbai, a seven-year-old boy died after a brick column collapsed on him during a local Dahi Handi celebration in Malvani.
In Pune, a 45-year-old woman was crushed to death after an iron frame collapsed during the festivities. In Nashik, a child from a family that had travelled from Mumbai to visit the Panchvati drowned after four children fell into the Godavari River.
In Mumbai, 118 people were admitted or treated for injuries, with five admitted, 80 under treatment and 33 discharged, while 10 people were injured in Thane.
