Police in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district have seized a large quantity of illegal cannabis. Mangawan police seized approximately 2,030 kilograms of cannabis hidden inside maize sacks. Two interstate smugglers were arrested in this action. Police also seized property worth around four crore twenty five lakh rupees.

 

Police say the accused were planning to take the drugs to Prayagraj. A case has been registered against them under the NDPS Act. Police are now questioning the accused about the source of the cannabis, its destination and others linked to the smuggling network. This action is part of the state’s ongoing ‘Nashe se doori hai jaruri 2.0″ campaign. Through this campaign police are creating awareness against drugs. At the same time, they are taking strict action against smugglers.
