The Madhya Pradesh High Court has designated four special fast-track courts to hear examination paper leak and related malpractice cases, directing them to complete trials within three months of the filing of charge sheets. Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rusia designated district and additional sessions courts in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur as special courts under the Lok Pariksha (Anuchit Sadhano Ka Nivaran) Adhiniyam, 2024, and related provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

 

The move follows the Centre’s assurance to set up fast-track courts for examination malpractice cases and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s announcement of special courts in the four cities. The High Court said the courts will also hear related cases referred by state or central investigating agencies, with jurisdiction extending to adjoining districts.

 

The High Court said the aim is to ensure fairness, transparency and credibility in the examination system and to provide speedy justice in such cases.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the setting up of fast-track courts for the speedy disposal of cases related to education and employment in the interest of young people. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the state is now implementing that announcement by setting up these special courts in four major cities. The government believes this will improve transparency in the examination system and strengthen the confidence of young people.
