Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and BJP state president Hemant Khandelwal addressed a press conference on SIR at the BJP state office in Bhopal today. Both leaders criticised the Congress over the allegations being made against the Election Commission. The Election Commission is currently carrying out Special Intensive Revision or SIR of electoral rolls in several states and Union Territories.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the Election Commission, the Supreme Court and Parliament are important institutions of the democratic system. He alleged that making allegations without evidence raises questions about democratic institutions. He also demanded that Rahul Gandhi apologise to the country and resign from his post.
