Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has reconstituted several Parliamentary Committees related to different Ministries. BJP MP Bhartruhari Mahtab has been appointed as a chairperson of the Committee on Finance, comprising 21 members from Lok Sabha and 10 members of Rajya Sabha.

 

Mr Birla has appointed Congress MP Shashi Tharoor as chairperson of the Committee on External Affairs. It includes 21 members from lower house and 10 from upper house. While the committee on Railways will be headed by BJP MP Sudhir Gupta. Mr Birla has appointed Lok Sabha MP Dr. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar as chairperson of Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers. 

 

Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi will be the chairperson of Committee on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Food Processing, BJP MP Radha Mohan Singh will be the chairperson of the Committee on Defence; BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy has been appointed as a chairperson of the Committee on Water Resources, while the Committee on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj will be headed by the Congress MP Saptagiri Ulaka. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has been appointed as the chairperson of the Committee on Communications and Information Technology. 

 

The term of these Committees will be effective from 26th of last month.
