Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla paid tributes to great revolutionary, ardent patriot, and immortal martyr Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil on his birth anniversary. In a social media post, Mr Birla said that Bismil dedicated his all to India’s freedom and was among those illustrious figures who infused new energy into the freedom movement through their thoughts, writings, and daring actions.

The Lok Sabha Speaker noted that his decisive role in the Kakori Conspiracy challenged the foundations of British rule and gave a new direction to the freedom struggle. Further, Mr Birla added that his life will forever remain an unparalleled example of sacrifice, courage, self-respect, and unwavering devotion to the motherland, serving as an eternal source of inspiration.

Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tributes to great revolutionary. In a social media post, Mr Shah said Ram Prasad Bismil shook the very foundations of the British Raj through the Kakori Train Action, and even the tortures inflicted by the British could not shake his resolve for independence. He added that the revolutionary organized the youth and inspired them for Mother India’s freedom.

The Minister underlined that reading his works still fills every fibre of one’s being with patriotism today. Mr Shah noted that the saga of sacrifice of Ram Prasad Bismil will continue to inspire the youth for the nation’s primacy for eternity.
