President, Lok Sabha Speaker extend greetings on Raksha Bandhan

 
On the eve of Raksha Bandhan, President Droupadi Murmu has extended greetings to people. The President said that the festival of Raksha Bandhan has been an integral part of country’s culture and tradition since ancient times. She said that rakhi thread, tied around the wrist with faith, is regarded as a sacred bond of protection, known as Raksha Bandhan. 
 
The President  said that in many shlokas and mantras, Rakshe, Ma Chala, Ma Chala can be found which expresses the imploration that may this bond of protection continue forever. President Murmu urged every citizen to take a pledge to strengthen the bonds amongst families and communities, marching forward with this spirit towards a Viksit Bharat. 
 
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also extended greetings to countrymen on the eve of Raksha Bandhan. In his message, Mr Birla said festival that celebrates the mutual love, affection, and trust between brothers and sisters. He noted that the festival symbolizes of India’s rich culture, family values, and the unbreakable bonds of affection and belonging.
