J&K: LG Manoj Sinha Chairs Review Meeting on Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Management

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the overall management and ground situation of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The Lieutenant Governor said, the Yatra is being conducted as per the Supreme Court-mandated ceiling of pilgrim movement on the tracks and it is imperative to adhere to the registration schedule for safety and convenience of the pilgrims.

The LG said this after it was revealed in the meeting that an unusually large number of pilgrims have been arriving without valid registration, causing long waiting times for pilgrims to undertake the Yatra.

During the meeting, it was stated that only pilgrims possessing valid registration for the designated date shall be permitted to proceed on the tracks leading to the Holy Cave Shrine and all intending pilgrims must complete the mandatory registration process before commencing their journey to Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the Yatra is going on smoothly for the second day as over 19000 pilgrims paid obeisance at the Holy cave today.
