Large number of devotees gather at Ujjain temples on Sawan Monday and Nag Panchami

In Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, a large number of devotees gathered on the occasion of the third Monday of Sawan and Nag Panchami. The doors of the Nagchandreshwar Temple were opened at midnight. They will remain open for 24 hours. The temple has a rare idol of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati sitting under the hood of a serpent king.

 

According to the local administration, around four lakh devotees have visited the Nagchandreshwar Temple so far. Around one and a half lakh devotees have also visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple. Separate entry and exit routes have been arranged to manage the crowd.
