Ladakh: Vehicle Plunges into Drass River; One Dead, Three Missing

In Ladakh, one person has been confirmed dead while three others remain missing after a vehicle plunged into the Drass River near Marpoochoo in Drass today. According to reports, four people were travelling in the vehicle when it reportedly lost control and veered off the road before falling into the river.
 
A large-scale search and rescue operation was launched immediately after the incident by teams of Ladakh Police, the Union Territory Disaster Response Force (UTDRF), the Indian Army, volunteers of Basij-e-Imam, Al Mehdi Scouts, Baseej-e-Baqiyatullah and local residents.
 
Officials said one occupant has been recovered dead, while efforts are continuing to trace the three missing persons. Rescue teams have been conducting intensive searches along the river stretch despite difficult terrain and challenging conditions.
 
Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the victims. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
 
The search and rescue operation remains underway, and officials have stated that efforts will continue until all the missing persons are located.
