In Ladakh, Director General of Akashvani, Rajeev Kumar Jain, visited Akashvani Kargil and reviewed the overall functioning of the station. During his visit, Jain inspected various sections and interacted with the staff to assess the station’s broadcasting, news, technical and administrative operations.
He was accorded a traditional welcome with khataks and kalchor by the staff of Akashvani Kargil.
The Director General said Akashvani Kargil holds an important place in the Akashvani network. He said discussions were held on further strengthening the station to meet the aspirations of the people and on expanding news dissemination to make it more effective. Jain also directed the officials concerned to explore the possibility of increasing the duration of local broadcasts.
He expressed hope that the discussions would yield positive results in the coming months.
