Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) today celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day in New Delhi. KVIC Chairman Manoj Goel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and encouraged participants to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle. He also planted a sapling in the office premises under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Mr Goel said Yoga and Khadi have become global symbols of India’s cultural identity under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He remarked that the Prime Minister’s efforts to bring both Yoga and Khadi closer to the masses stand as a remarkable example of the renaissance of India’s cultural heritage. He further stated that the turnover of the Khadi and Village Industries sector has crossed 1.87 lakh crore rupees in 2025-26, while providing employment to over 2 crore people. He expressed confidence that the sector would achieve the turnover target of 2.51 lakh crore rupees in the near future.
