Kiren Rijiju chairs Haj review meeting 2027 in New Delhi

Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju today chaired the Haj review meeting 2027 in New Delhi. During the meeting, the minister also reviewed the conduct of Haj-2026. Mr Rijiju expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of Haj-2026, during which approximately 1.75 lakh Indian Haj pilgrims performed Haj. He gave credit for the successful Haj to the dedicated and coordinated efforts of all the Ministries and departments concerned.

 

The meeting also reviewed an emerging role of artificial intelligence interventions to strengthen end-to-end Haj pilgrim management. This includes a 24×7 multilingual voice-based support system in Hindi, Urdu and major regional languages, AI-assisted applications and document verification, demand modelling for flight allocation across embarkation points, and real-time grievance tracking and escalation. Briefing the Media after the review meeting, Mr Rijiju described the Haj 2026 as one of the most successful Haj in the history of India.

 

The Minister said that India received two Labbaytum Awards from the Ministry of Haj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia for Best Haj Coordination and Communication in Haj 2026. He noted that the Haj Policy 2027 would be announced shortly, following which the Haj Committee of India would invite applications from prospective pilgrims, enabling an early start to the application process.

He reiterated the Government’s commitment to ensuring a safe, comfortable, transparent and dignified Haj for every Indian pilgrim.
