The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has achieved a historic milestone in the financial year 2025-26, recording a turnover of one lakh 87 thousand crore rupees.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, KVIC Chairman Manoj Kumar said that this milestone has been achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the hard work of millions of rural artisans.
He said, KVIC is providing employment to more than two crore people, of whom 80 per cent are women. Mr Kumar highlighted that 12 years ago, the turnover of Khadi industry stood at only 30 to 32 thousand crore rupees.
The Chairman informed that KVIC will soon launch e-commerce platform to further boost the business of khadi products.
