The Khadi Bhawan at Connaught Place in Delhi has recorded the highest-ever sale of Khadi and Village Industries products of over 1.5 crore rupees on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission Manoj Kumar said that the sale of Khadi has increased because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal in the last 'Mann Ki Baat" programme. He added that this appeal created a huge impact on the public. Mr. Kumar said the Khadi of India has become the forerunner of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan in the country.

Mr. Kumar said this new record for the sale of Khadi and Village Industries products shows that people have a special attachment towards Khadi. He informed that the sale of Khadi and Village Industries products was 1.01 crore rupees in the year 2021-22 and it had increased to 1.34 crore rupees in the year 2022-23, while the sales figure has crossed 1.52 crore in this financial year.
