In Keralam, official Onam and tourism week celebrations will begin today. Chief Minister V D Satheesan will inaugurate the official celebrations.
Entire Keralam is gearing up for its biggest annual festival, Onam. The official state-level Onam Tourism Week celebrations will be inaugurated this evening in Thiruvananthapuram.
More than 340 cultural programmes will be held at 35 different venues across Thiruvananthapuram during the Onam Tourism Week. In addition, over 170 cultural programmes will be organised in other districts across the state.
The state capital has been illuminated since yesterday evening by various government departments and private institutions, adding to the festive atmosphere.
