Kerala: Woman tests negative for Ebola after returning from South Sudan

In Keralam, a 54-year-old woman who had been under observation at Government Medical College Hospital, Kottayam, after returning from South Sudan, has been tested negative for Ebola. The confirmation came following the final test report received from the National Institute of Virology, Pune.

With the test result ruling out Ebola infection, she has been discharged from isolation and placed under home quarantine. The woman, who had initially sought treatment for fever at a private hospital in Pala, was shifted to the Medical College Hospital in Kottayam for further evaluation in view of her recent travel history.
