In Keralam, the state government has constituted a five-member expert committee to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the Kalladi landslide in Wayanad. The committee headed by Geologist Dr. C. P. Rajendran will examine the environmental clearances granted by the Centre and the State and possible safety lapses and submit its report within one month.
Meanwhile, Kerala Revenue Minister A. P. Anil Kumar said, rescue and relief operations in the landslide-hit areas are progressing on a war footing. After visiting the affected areas and relief camps, the Minister said, search operations to locate one missing worker would be extended to more areas in the coming days if weather conditions remain favourable.
