A high-level delegation from Kenya’s Ministry of Education, Technical and Vocational Education and Training Curriculum Development visited the Punjab State & Chandigarh (UT) Human Rights Commission (PSHRC), today, to understand India’s experience in linking human rights with education, youth skilling, technology and capacity building.
Led by Chief Executive Officer from the Kenyan Ministry, Prof. Kisilu Kitainge, the delegation met with the Chairperson of the Commission, Justice Sant Parkash and emphasised that education and skill development must be built around the principles of equality, dignity and non-discrimination.
Both sides recognised the importance of developing education and skill-development systems that are not only future-ready and technology-enabled but also inclusive, accessible and firmly rooted in human dignity and equality.
The interaction focused on how a human-rights-based approach can strengthen vocational education, skill development, equal access to opportunities, digital inclusion and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
