Karnataka has constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee to look into student issues and promote education reforms. The Minister for Health and Family Welfare, U T Khadar, has been made the Chairman of the Sub-Committee, with Ministers for Higher Education, Home, Medical Education and School Education as its members.

It has been given the mandate to examine and make recommendations on the integrity of examination and recruitment, cost of education, fee and coaching regulations, infrastructure and quality in public institutions of learning, student mental health and wellbeing, curriculum, skilling and linkage to employment and strengthening scholarships and financial assistance.
