Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations for the State Government employees in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday. He informed that the salary, allowances and pensions of the Government employees will be revised with effect from 1st of August this year.
The minimum basic pay of employees will increase from 17,000 to 27,000 and the maximum pay will be revised from 1,50,000 to 2,41,200 rupees. The revision in salary will incur an additional expenditure of 20,208 crores per annum and the Government has provided necessary budgetary provisions for the same.
