The 80th Independence Day celebrations were marked by patriotic fervour and a resolve to see India as a developed country. Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar hoisted the national flag at Field Marshal Manekshaw’s ground in Bengaluru.

In his address, the Chief Minister resolved to take the state economy to three trillion dollars by 2047. He also announced the introduction of AI education from the sixth standard in all the schools and launched AI Akshara Abhiyan and coding Gurukula. He also said that the country’s first government owned AI university will come up in Bengaluru. He also announced Chief Minister Employment Sankalpa to generate jobs and fill 72000 vacant posts in the government sector.

He affirmed creation of one lakh new jobs in the next two years. He also informed that drones and satellites will be used for crop survey and real time information systems. He also spoke about launching the Bengaluru Business Corridor, five new police commissionerates, formation of a rowdy control force, construction of five large tree parks, development of seven major lakes in Bengaluru and establishment of Praja Seva department to address public grievances.
