In Andhra Pradesh, District Collector M. Abhishikt Kishore paid floral tributes to the martyrs and remembered the courage, valour and supreme sacrifice of the soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1999 Kargil War. He said their sacrifice in safeguarding the nation’s borders would continue to inspire generations. The Eastern Naval Command also organised a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial to honour the heroes of Operation Vijay.
