The Kanwar Yatra begins in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, today. The state government has put in place extensive arrangements to ensure the safety, convenience and smooth movement of millions of Shiva devotees.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the Kanwar Yatra, which will continue till 11th August. State police personnel, along with paramilitary forces, have been deployed along the Kanwar track, national highways, major ghats, temples and other sensitive locations. ound-the-clock surveillance will be maintained through drone cameras, CCTV networks and a state-of-the-art integrated control room.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that every possible measure has been taken to ensure that the millions of devotees visiting Devbhoomi do not face any inconvenience during the pilgrimage.
To ensure smooth traffic movement during the Yatra, a special traffic diversion plan has been implemented and additional police personnel have been deployed at congested locations.Medical teams, fire services and disaster response units will also remain on high alert to handle any emergency.
