A joint Security Forces comprising Manipur police, CRPF, COBRA and Army recovered a huge cache of Arms and ammunition during the extensive intelligence-based combing and search operations carried out at Leilon Vaiphei village and other surrounding villages in Kangpokpi district yesterday.
According to police sources, the operation was conducted for three days. During the operation, Security forces engaged in an encounter with the armed militants, but no casualties on both sides is reported. Around 40 weapons, including 17 single and double-barrel guns, AK-47 rifles, SLR, SKS rifles, and 11 SBL rifles, could be recovered during the operation.
