The fifth joint Military exercise of India and Australia, AUSTRAHIND 2026, commenced at Thiruvananthapuram. The fourth edition was held at Irwin Barracks, Perth, Australia, last year.
Our Akashvani correspondent reports that a total of 240 defence personnel are participating in the joint exercise. Exercise AUSTRAHIND 2026 aims to further strengthen military-to-military cooperation, interoperability and mutual trust between India and Australia. It will reinforce their shared commitment to peace, stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region. For the first time, an observer delegation from New Zealand will also participate in the exercise. The joint exercise will conclude on November first.
