In Jammu and Kashmir, the much-awaited Sungal Tunnel on the Jammu-Poonch National Highway has been opened to the public, providing a major boost to connectivity with the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch and surrounding areas. Constructed by the Border Roads Organisation, the tunnel was earlier scheduled to open to the public on 22 August. However, it was opened ahead of schedule as an Independence Day gift, bringing relief to commuters and improving road connectivity in the region. We have a report:
