J&K set for National Pulse Polio Immunisation Campaign from June 28

In Jammu and Kashmir, all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure the smooth implementation of the National Pulse Polio Immunisation Campaign, which is set to commence tomorrow. Health Minister Sakina Itoo announced that around 19 lakh children up to the age group of five years across the Union Territory will be administered the Pulse Polio vaccine as part of the immunisation drive.

In Jammu district, around 1,200 vaccination booths have been established to administer the oral polio vaccine to children below five years of age. Officials have appealed to parents to ensure that every eligible child receives the life-saving vaccine. They further said that the oral polio vaccine is safe and should be administered even if a child has already received previous doses. Health teams will also conduct door-to-door vaccination in identified areas.
