In Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces today launched search operations at several locations in Udhampur, Reasi and Kathua districts following reports of the movement of suspected individuals. Additionally, security forces conducted search operations in the Sadini forests in Reasi and in several villages near the International Border in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua. These operations are ongoing in all areas and more details are awaited.
Meanwhile, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Northern Command, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, visited forward areas along the Line of Control in Poonch district yesterday. During the visit, he stressed the need for continued vigilance and innovative approaches to effectively address emerging security challenges. The Army General reviewed the operational preparedness of the formations and also interacted with the troops guarding the borders. During the visit, he was briefed on the prevailing security situation, operational readiness and the challenges of deployment in the rugged terrain. He interacted with troops serving in forward areas and appreciated their resilience in maintaining mission-readiness despite the demanding terrain and weather conditions.
