Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today attended the Union Territory-level launch of the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ in Srinagar. The 100-week nationwide campaign was virtually launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said the campaign aims to encourage youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle and actively participate in nation-building. He urged young people to stay away from drugs and become ambassadors of the anti-drug movement.
Referring to the recently concluded 100-day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan in Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Sinha said it witnessed active public participation and emerged as a successful people’s movement. He also announced that the government will soon launch a rehabilitation and socio-economic reintegration scheme for victims of drug abuse.
