In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the scrutiny of nomination papers for the first phase of Assembly elections was completed today. As many as 24 seats spread over seven districts will go to the polls on 18th September.

In the Kashmir Valley, a total of 160 nomination papers were found correct out of 183 submissions till yesterday.

Candidates can withdraw their names till the 30th of this month.

Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing and with each passing day, the campaigning by the parties and independent candidates is gaining momentum.
