J&K: Army introduces Aadhaar-based entry system at LoC gates in Poonch

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Army has introduced an Aadhaar-based entry and exit system at Line of Control (LoC) gates in Poonch district to facilitate easier movement for residents living across the border fence.  Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the new digital system enables quick and secure identification of individuals, significantly reducing waiting time at the gates. The initiative is aimed at improving ease of access for local residents while ensuring stringent security measures.

The Army has also installed state-of-the-art scanning equipment at the LoC gates. The advanced technology will help strengthen surveillance and prevent the smuggling of contraband, weapons and other prohibited items.

Officials said the move reflects the Army’s efforts to balance security requirements with the needs of civilians residing in border areas. The new system is expected to make the movement process more efficient, transparent and secure for residents while enhancing overall border management in the region.
