In Jammu and Kashmir, the alert troops of Army last night foiled a major infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that army troops deployed along the LoC observed some movement of a group of terrorists moving suspiciously from across the Line of Control towards their own side.

The army troops challenged the terrorists and a firefight ensued in which one terrorist was seen falling to the side, while two others who were injured, were seen taking cover into the jungle. Later the area was cordoned off and a massive search operation was launched during which the body of one of the terrorists who was neutralized, has been recovered with weapons and war-like stores. However, taking advantage of the forest foliage, the other injured terrorists managed to move back across the Line of Control. During the search operation war like stores including one AK 47 Rifle, three AK Magazines with 175 Rounds, one 9 mm Pistol, two Magazines with 15 Rounds, Four Hand Grenades, communication equipment, a large quantity of eatables and clothing for sustenance were recovered.
